One of the reasons why many European countries are not openly siding with Ukraine in the present Russia-Ukraine imbroglio is that they are fearful that in retaliation Moscow might switch off gas supply to them thus plunging them into energy crisis.Russia has tested reaction of NATO to its invasion of Ukraine and it feels contended that there has been feeble reaction over it from the known allies of Ukraine.This has certainly givenheart to Putin who now must be bracing himself to treat other Central Asian states who were once part and parcel of Moscow in the same way once he completely subdues Ukraine.
The US thinks that Putin wants to extend its domain right up to Portugal and Putin is being likened to Hitler by the American media.
The chasm of hatred among the US on one hand and Russia and China on the other hand is widening by the day. Washington is visibly upset over the new found amity between Moscow and Beijing which has transformed these two communist countries into a formidable political bloc which is likely to dominate the world politics for many years to come.
