ISLAMABAD, April 10: The general policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards Afghanistan and its citizens is based on the principle of good neighbourliness and mutual respect.
Congratulating the holy month of Ramadan and wishing God will accept the obedience and worship of the Muslim people of Afghanistan, considering the sedition and conspiracy that is going on in the relations between the two countries, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul warns of the conspiracy and announces:
For more than forty years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been a worthy host to Afghan immigrants and now hosts at least 5 million of them, who generally enjoy the facilities available in the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Iranian citizens.
Recent developments in Afghanistan have led to a new wave of Afghan nationals heading to Iran. The Islamic Republic, despite the economic problems caused by the oppressive sanctions; has not created any barriers to the entry of Afghan citizens and still welcomes new immigrants.
Illegal entry into Iran means a violation of its territorial sovereignty, and the law enforcement (border) forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are obliged to prevent the illegal entry of all foreign nationals into the country.
The general policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards Afghanistan and its citizens is based on the principle of good neighborliness and mutual respect. It is obvious that the news and information that indicate the organized mistreatment of the Iranian police force against the citizens of Afghanistan are baseless and invalid.
Clips published in cyberspace about the persecution of Afghan citizens in Iran in a purposeful and planned manner seek to blur deep-rooted and historical relations between the two nations of Iran and Afghanistan and seek to instill Iranophobia in Afghan society. It is clear that such films, clips and images can not be considered as a basis for a fair judgment regarding the type of treatment towards Afghan citizens in Iran. On the other hand, videos and clips are being spread in cyberspace that seek to instill Afghan phobia in Iranian society and in which Afghan citizens are shown committing crimes against the Iranian people. Putting these types of videos together reveals a purposeful media stream that seeks to destroy the relations between the two countries.
The representations of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan, including the embassy in Kabul and the Consulates-Generals in Herat, Kandahar, Jalalabad and Mazar-e-Sharif, issue visas every day except holidays. Afghan citizens wishing to travel to Iran can apply for a visa and enter Iran legally by visiting any of these agencies.-PR
