A Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to create additional facilities for the activities of the private sector in medicine and support for workers in this field” was adopted.
According to the Decree:
for doctors who are foreign citizens who are not included in the category of highly qualified and qualified specialists, the amount of the fee for issuing a confirmation of the right to work in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan is reduced by six times and is collected in five times the amount of the basic estimated value (BEV) (previously it was 30 sizes of the BEV);
foreign specialists arriving in the Republic of Uzbekistan for a short period (up to one month) do not need to obtain confirmation of the right to work in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
the tourist (hotel) fee levied by medical institutions from foreign citizens and stateless persons who do not have a permanent place of residence in Uzbekistan is cancelled;
the requirement for certification of tourist services for medical institutions (with the exception of sanatoriums and boarding houses) is cancelled. At the same time, the accounting of arrivals by medical institutions is carried out in electronic form.
For new medical equipment, components and spare parts for them, as well as consumables imported by legal entities, including under leasing agreements, the validity of customs benefits has been extended until 1 January 2025 (previously it was extended until 1 January 2024).
According to the Decree, spare parts of medical equipment and products, as well as consumables for medical purposes, are exempt from VAT when imported into Uzbekistan until 1 January 2025.
