Though the armed forces have fenced the Durand line but fencing alone would not do unless our interior ministry put into effect a very strict visa policy for the Afghanis wishing to visit Pakistan.A visa policy akin to the one in vogue in the UK or US would have to be introduced for entry into Pakistan if we are to checkmate entry of saboteurs in this country who have been taking benefit of our present loose visa policy for carrying out subversive activities inside Pakistan and killing jawans of our armed forces.Almost every second day we hear armed attack on jawans of our armed forces in the former FATA. The murder of to three FC jawans in Mir Ali North Waziristan the other day at the hands of saboteurs is a case in point. The interior ministry must jog into action and without further loss of time evolve a tight visa regime for the Afghanis desirous to come to Pakistan for meeting their relatives or for business purposes and for students.
The Foreign Office must raise this issue strongly with the government in Kabul It should be let known to it that it has miserably failed to rein in on element hostile to Pakistan which lives in Afghanistan.
