President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Chair of the Milli Majlis Sagiba Ali gyzy Gafarova as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
Topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including the strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, were discussed at the meeting, the press service of the head of state reported.
Sagiba Ali gyzy Gafarova, welcoming the Kyrgyz delegation, noted the historical, cultural and religious community of the two peoples, which are the basis for joint development. She stressed that the countries are also bound by strong economic and humanitarian relations, and the Declaration on strategic partnership signed today by the presidents of the two countries will become the basis of the legal framework for strengthening interstate relations.
For his part, Sadyr Zhaparov noted with satisfaction that the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation is developing dynamically, which opens up new promising opportunities for interaction, and there is complete mutual understanding and closeness of positions on a number of pressing international and regional issues.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that by joint efforts the parties would ensure further building up of constructive cooperation within the framework of international organizations and regional associations.
The Kyrgyz president noted that the friendly and fraternal relations between the countries today have reached a new level – strategic partnership.
He also noted with satisfaction the high level of inter-parliamentary relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that inter-parliamentary cooperation is productive and gives an additional impetus to the development of interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
