RAHIM YAR KHAN, May 12: An awareness seminar and cold drink stalls were organized at KhwajaFareed University of Engineering and Information Technology to prevent extreme heat in summer. Dr. Sadaf Al-Hiara addressed the seminar as the guest speaker while the function was organized by the Department of Food Sciences. In his address, Dr. Sadaf Al-Hira explained the precautionary measures to be taken against heat and also gave a detailed presentation on the medical aid of the severely affected person. She said that in view of the severe weather, people should consume more drinks and water. He said that the work of universities is the creation of knowledge. KhwajaFareed University under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Tahir is taking steps which are leading to real improvement in the society. He praised the organization of the seminar and the drinks prepared by the students. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Adnan KhaliqBajwa said that Rahim Yar Khan is experiencing the hottest summer in its 72-year history. He said that going up to 51 degree Celsius is very alarming. He said that watermelon, melon and other such fruits are a natural remedy for severe weather. Foods that lead to a healthy society should be preferred. Head of Department Dr. Farhan Chughtai, Dr. Bilal Tahir, Dr. YasirNiaz, Shoaib Aziz and others were also present on the occasion. On the other hand, Stalls of juices made from local fruits were also set up by students of the Department of Food Sciences. The students at the stalls explained the method of preparation of drinks and recipes to the visitors. PR
