Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev received Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybai.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the meeting, Kairat Sarybai informed about the work being done by the Secretariat to prepare the content of the 6th CICA Summit, which will be held on October 12-13, 2022 in Nur-Sultan under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan and efforts aimed at institutional development of the CICA as a whole.
In addition, he spoke about the initiative promoted by the Kazakh side to transform the Conference into a full-fledged international organization, which, in his opinion, would help strengthen interconnectedness in the region and form an urgent agenda.
In turn, Kulubaev noted that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to cooperation within the framework of the CICA and supports the efforts of the Kazakh side to realize the overall potential of the Meeting as a dialogue mechanism, as well as its transformation into an international organization. At the same time, he stressed the importance of practical activities and joint efforts to maintain stability and security in the region and create conditions for sustainable socio-economic development of the member countries.
The Kyrgyz FM said that the cooperation in the CICA, first of all, should contribute to the consolidation of the positions of the Central Asian countries both on regional problems and on the challenges and threats of globalization. The sides agreed to continue joint work on all topical issues that are on the agenda of the CICA. The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. – Kabar
