Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait city is taking part in the ASEAN Festival 2022, a trade and tourism expo, to promote a variety of foods and spices as well as Indonesia. Organized by Lulu Hypermarket Kuwait, the festival is being held from June 12 to 18, 2022, the embassy said in a statement on Monday. The festival has also seen participation from other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. “The event is one of the examples of mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade field between the largest supermarket in Kuwait and ASEAN food and beverage exporters,” Indonesian Ambassador to Kuwait, Lema Maryana Mukti, in her capacity as chief of the ASEAN community in Kuwait, said during her address at the festival.
“I hope the week-long festival will expand Indonesian products’ access to the Kuwaiti market,” she said.
For the festival, the embassy has raised the theme “Indonesia Spice up Kuwait” and cooperated with a distributor of Indonesian products in Kuwait, the Wahat Al Khoir export-import company, to exhibit a variety of Indonesian commodities, including spices, processed foods, instant food seasonings, and candies.
