ISLAMABAD, June 24: Minister SAFRON, Senator Muhammad TalhaMahmood handed over humanitarian assistance for earthquake affectees of Afghanistan to H.E. Mr. Sardar Muhammad Shakeeb, Charge d’affaires of Afghanistan during an official ceremony held at Nur Khan Base, Rawalpindi today. The ceremony was attended by Chairman NDMA Lt. General Akhter Nawaz and officials of NDMA, Ministry of Foreign affairs and Afghanistan.
This second consignment arranged by the National Disaster Management Authority consists of family tents and essential food items, which has been dispatched through PAF C130 Air Craft.
While expressing grief over the loss of lives amid earthquake, the Minister said Pakistan will continue to support Afghans towards the humanitarian crisis caused by the earthquake in Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan had assured full support to Afghanistan in this difficult hour and relevant authorities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and others were in close contact with the Afghan authorities for the transportation and supply of these relief goods.
Afghan Charge d’affaires thanked Pakistani government for sending humanitarian assistance promptly for Afghan people in the hour of need.
It is pertinent to mention that NDMA has already sent the first consignment of relief goods on 23 June 2022 via road.-PR
