ISLAMABAD, June 24: PTI Chief and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has got big relief as a sessions court in Islamabad has accepted his interim bail till July 6 in 15 cases of vandalism during his long march call on May 25, besides restraining police from arresting him.
The PTI chairman on Friday came to attend the hearing of his bail applications seeking interim bails in 15 cases registered against him on the charges of damaging public properties and arson incidents during the PTI long march last month.
He came to the court along with his lawyer Babar Awan. District and sessions judge Kamran Basharat Mufti after hearing arguments of the lawyers granted bail to Imran Khan in 10 cases registered in Abpara, I-9, Kohsar, Karachi Company, Golra, Tarnol, and Secretariat police stations.
The judges also granted interim bail to the PTI chairman in five cases of vandalism registered in Bahara Kaho, Sahala, Koral, and Loi Bhair police stations. The judge directed the former premier to submit surety bonds worth Rs5,000 in every case. He also sought record of all 15 cases from the police and restrained them from arresting Imran. -NNI
