Uzbekistan delegation hands over humanitarian cargo to Afghanistan

The humanitarian aid with a total weight of more than 74 tons, delivered to Afghanistan on two cargo planes in connection with the recent devastating earthquake in the Afghan provinces of Khost and Paktika, included flour, vegetable oil, canned food, shoes, and medicines.
Acting Minister of Information and Culture of the Interim Government Khairullah Khairkhwa, on behalf of the Afghan authorities, expressed his deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to all the friendly Uzbekistan people for their invaluable help to the Afghan people during this difficult time.
According to him, “the Head of Uzbekistan once again showed the world an example of courage and fraternal attitude towards the people of Afghanistan, which is a clear indicator of the sincerity and exceptional humanity of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev”.
It was emphasized that aid was delivered to Afghanistan immediately after the tragedy, which will save thousands of lives of ordinary Afghans.
Emphasizing the deep historical, spiritual, cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan peoples, Khairullah Khairkhwa once again noted the commitment of the country’s government to their further development.
“Treasures of the Uzbek land – ancient Samarkand and Bukhara have been and forever will remain the centers of Islamic culture, which are revered, including by all the Afghan people”, said the head of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Afghanistan. “We are confident that such a truly invaluable step by Uzbekistan will further strengthen our fraternal ties and will contribute to the even greater rapprochement between our peoples and countries”.
Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev, emphasizing the fraternal nature of this assistance to Afghanistan, noted its humanitarian component.
It was noted that the humanitarian cargo to the people of Afghanistan is a personal initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, “who, even in the most difficult time for the Afghan people, always thinks about peace and prosperity on Afghan land”. – Uz Daily
