President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, within the framework of the international program of Karakol – the cultural capital of the CIS in 2022, met with distinguished foreign guests – Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi, Executive Director of the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States Anatoly Iksanov , Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Beketzhan Zhumakhanov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan Shadurdy Meredov.
Welcoming the guests, the head of state congratulated everyone on the opening of the celebration on the occasion of granting the city of Karakol the status of the cultural capital of the Commonwealth in 2022. “This is a great honor for the Kyrgyz side. In addition, it is very significant that 2022 has been declared the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in the CIS, and holding today’s event in Kyrgyzstan is of great importance for the country,” he said.
Sadyr Zhaparov stated that over the thirty-year period of the history of the CIS, intercultural dialogue has confirmed its important role in the creation and preservation of common humanistic values ??of the peoples of the Commonwealth countries. The formation of a common cultural and humanitarian space is one of the main priorities of the CIS.
“It is gratifying to note that cultural cooperation in the CIS space is reaching new frontiers, embracing more and more new directions and forms. Conferences, theater and music festivals, film forums and other projects that take place in the Commonwealth countries contribute to the establishment of new creative ties. Kyrgyzstan is ready to work effectively and purposefully with our partners in the CIS and other participants so that culture, tourism and sports become key factors in the development of multilateral cooperation,” the president stressed.
During the conversation, he suggested starting the implementation of joint projects of the CIS member states to modernize and recreate realistic models of tourist facilities of ancient settlements that once flourished in ancient times in the space of the CIS member states, the implementation of the construction of modern ski resorts and complexes in the territories of the CIS member states to create a solid foundation for a healthy lifestyle, training athletes, participants in international competitions, including the Olympic Games.
President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the urgent need to establish an international award for the development of tourism of the CIS member states, which would help strengthen cultural and humanitarian contacts between the CIS member states.
In turn, Mikhail Shvydkoi thanked for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from the leadership of the Russian Federation.
He noted that Russia and Kyrgyzstan are connected not only by close cultural, but also by political and economic relations, which is very important for Russia. Bilateral cooperation has a special historical character. Karakol is an amazing city that testifies to the conjugation of cultures and different ethnic groups.
Anatoly Iksanov added that Karakol is a point on earth, saturated with amazing culture, and this is what to share with all the countries of the Commonwealth. It is gratifying to note that Kyrgyzstan occupies a special place in the activities of the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation since most of the projects in which all countries of the Commonwealth are interested come from Kyrgyzstan. This indicates the interest of the Kyrgyz people in universal history, culture and mutual understanding.
Beketzhan Zhumakhanov supported Sadyr Zhaparov’s initiative to establish a CIS award for the development of tourism in the CIS member states.
He informed that a new project “Precious necklace of the CIS countries” is being developed in the CIS, which will include the most significant historical places of the CIS countries. Shadurdy Meredov also emphasized the rich nature and culture of Kyrgyzstan. He noted with great satisfaction his participation in this international event.
