Government smoothens automobiles import procedure with revised policy

ISLAMABAD, March 29: Government has smoothened procedure to import used cars with new auto policy.
According to the five-year Automotive Development Policy, frequent changes in last policies had formed quite a complex procedure for locals.The revised policy states three ways to import used cars. Residence shift, gift or personal commodity will be one of the reasons for the desired import. The government has claimed that the revised policy will regulate the process.
However, the policy does not permit import of cars older than three years with an exception for heavy vehicles including four-wheel drive, truck, bus, van. Limit of the said heavy vehicles is set at five instead of three-year.-Agencies
