Uzbekistan delegation led by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov has met with the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, in the United States.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, issues of regional security and sustainable development.
The UN Secretary-General supported the initiative of Uzbekistan to hold an international conference “Afghanistan: Security and Economic Development” on July 26 this year in Tashkent. It was noted that the UN will be represented at a high level at this forum.
António Guterres listened with particular interest to the information about the essence, content and priority areas of the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan.
The parties also exchanged views on other current issues on the agenda of cooperation. – UzA
