The government delegation of Kyrgyzstan, headed by Head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration Almaz Isanov met with the leadership of K Water Corporation (Republic of Korea), the press service of the Cabinet reported.
The parties discussed main directions of cooperation on water resources management, introduction of new technologies in water use, irrigation, construction and operation of reservoirs, small hydropower plants. The mentioned technologies will improve drinking water supply to the population (in the regions) and contribute to regulation of water discharge.
“The Kyrgyz Republic is interested in transition to a scientific approach to water regulation. In this context, the water sector can become one of the key areas of cooperation with the Republic of Korea,” said Head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration Almaz Isanov.
In turn, the Korean side offered to create an expeditionary group to study this area in the Kyrgyz Republic comprehensively and exchange experiences at expert level. As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding during the visit of K Water Corporation representatives to Kyrgyzstan at the end of July of this year. – Kabar
