Lahore Stock Exchange downs by 21.25 points

LAHORE, January 5: Lahore Stock Exchange Monday witnessed bearish trend by losing 21.25 points, as the LSE Index-25 opened with 5445.08 points and closed at 5423.83 points.
The market’s overall situation, however, corresponded to an upward trend as it remained at 90,800 shares to close against previous turnover of 52,500 shares, showing an upward move of 38,300 shares. While, out of the total 55 active scrips, 7 moved up, 4 shed values and 44 remained equal.
The Major Gainers of the day were Pak Elektron Limited, Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited and Dewan Cement Limited (Pakland) by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 3.18, Rs 1.40 and Re 0.37 respectively.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, United Bank Limited and Power Cement Limited lost their per share value by Re 0.55, Re 0.51 and Re 0.36 respectively.
Top three Volume Leaders of the day included Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited with 19000 shares, Dewan Cement Limited (Pakland) with 16,000 shares and Silkbank Limited (Saudi) with 14,500 shares.
