Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met with Executive Director of A-Hid (Hungary) Laszlo Sal on the issue of design of small hydropower plants, the press service of the Cabinet reported. “Development and construction of small hydropower plants is one of the priorities in the work of the Cabinet of Ministers. We are ready to implement projects, including in the field of small hydropower, which will create conditions to ensure energy independence of the country,” Akylbek Zhaparov said.
Further, a ceremony of signing the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund and A-Hid was held. According to the signed agreement, studies will be conducted to select the most promising sites for the construction of small hydropower plants with further development of the pre-feasibility study and feasibility study of small power facilities themselves. Under the agreement, the issue of financing small hydropower projects using the capabilities of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund will also be studied. – Kabar
