LAHORE, July 31: Punjab Assembly passed a resolution against the sitting authorities of the Election Commission on Sunday. According to a private news channel, the resolution demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and the members of the Election Commissioner.
The resolution was moved by the treasury member Ali Abbas in the House chaired by newly elected Speaker Sabtain Khan. The resolution condemned the end of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government under the global conspiracy. The resolution also said that the announcement of general elections is the only solution to get the country out of the current high inflation and economic depression.
The resolution also expressed no confidence in the Chief Election Commissioner and his members. The resolution demanded the immediate resignation of the CEC and the members of the Election Commission. -DNA
