sartaj-aziz_350_111213063854_111313122843_101214121427 (1)ISLAMABAD, June 6: Stressing stable and strong ties with neighbours as the corner stone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan and India must resume composite dialogue process.
According to Aziz, Pakistan’s policy regarding peace in the region was being supported globally as the dialogue was the only way forward. In an interview, Sartaj Aziz made it clear that Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmir dispute along with other issues that matter in the region including terrorism.
“Pakistan is committed that all outstanding issues with India, including Kashmir, should be part of the dialogue process,” adding, Pakistan has been highlighting the very issue on various platforms and its stance on the subject was clear,” he said.
Referring to the growing Indian investment and involvement in Afghanistan on various projects, the advisor said, “We see the competition in the region as a healthy sign.”
He emphasised that projects like, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), CASA-1000 Power Project, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) Pipeline Project, and Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project, promote the idea sharing development goals in the region and Pakistan has no objection if other countries were engaged in the same process too. -DNA
