ISLAMABAD, January 20: A number of Korean companies working on various projects including Hydel ones and Lowari Tunnel showed keen interest to invest more in Pakistan.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Dr Song Jong-hwan said this while addressing a reception hosted by the Pak-Korea Friendship Forum.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Korea and expressed his resolve to enhance existing cooperation to the maximum level in the coming years.
Speaking about Pak-Korea economic relations, the Ambassador said that both the countries were enjoying excellent bilateral trade and economic relations and hoped these would be further strengthened in the times to come.
About future of Pak-Korea economic relations, the Ambassador said that Korean companies were working in different sectors in Pakistan like health, agriculture, infrastructure and development and cooperation in all the fields woud be further enhanced between the two countries.
Regarding current trade volume between the two countries, he said it was more than one billion US dollars and both the countries had potential to increase it manifold in future. The Ambassador said that during the visit of Prime Minister of Korea to Pakistan a number of agreements and MoUs were signed between the two countries.-APP
