ISLAMABAD, June 13: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has stated that the circular debt is on the rise as a result of the failed policies of the government, further stating that several mega-projects similar to the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project were initiated by the government in order to get commission out of them.
Addressing a press conference, the PTIchief said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is placing hurdles in the path of the developmental projects being carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), adding that PML-N still cannot win elections against PTI despite such measures.
Imran Khan said that the provincial government has already planted 500 million trees in KP and plans to plant one billion two-hundred million trees till 2018. He criticised Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, without naming him, by stating that details of the very project can be shared with the ‘dis-information Minister’ as well.
PTI Chairman said that the provincial government freed around twenty-five thousand kanal area of occupied from the land-mafia and fined the culprits around one billion rupees. He also said that the federal government’s decision to plant one and a half billion trees is a copy of KP government’s idea.
Imran Khan said that Pakistan is among the seven countries of the world which are being worst affected by environmental changes, further stating that drastic measures need to be taken to deal with the issue. -NNI
