ISLAMABAD, January 22: Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that corruption is rampant in our society and has rightly been labelled as mother of all ills. It gives birth to multifarious problems including nepotism, favouritism and negating meritocracy, transparency and accountability.
He said this while talking to a a delegation of National Leadership Programme of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) Karachi, which headed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhhammad Ali Sheikh, comprising faculty members and students called on him here on Friday. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that Sindh Madressatul Islam University is one of the oldest institutions in South Asia and has the distinction of being the Alma Matter of founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Chairman NAB reiterated that mission of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) is to create excellent environment for education, research and learning in order to produce outstanding leaders who are pro-active, truthful, honest, brave and believe in self-accountability. He said that institutions like Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) are the torch bearers in the quest to impart such education to young generation who can lift Pakistan out of corruption. Chairman NAB emphasized that NAB is determined to eradicate corruption from Pakistan.
