Part-II
Realizing the gravity of situation, India has overwhelmingly beefed up the number of security personnel in the valley. Indian National Security Advisor Doval accompanying Modi for African visit has also curtailed his tour to monitor and tackle the situation by his indigenous malicious tactics. Political leadership including Sonia Gandhi and former J&K Chief minister Omar Abdullah have also been contacted by Home Minister Rajnath to discuss means to salvage the worsening situation. India’s PM has also called an emergency meeting over escalating anti-India protests in Kashmir. Hindutva centric BJP Government has once again become over active in suppressing the Kashmiri voices for legitimate demand of freedom besides hoodwinking the World and justifying illegitimate occupation of IOK. Historically, whenever situation in IOK becomes charged due to oppressive tactics of devilish Indian occupational forces, India resorts to implicating Pakistan and terming the freedom fighters as terrorists. It blames Pakistan for abetting terrorism in IOK through infiltration. This baseless allegation of India always loses its veracity in the absence of admissible proofs. Moreover, heavily guarded LOC with multiple defence layers, presence of heavy contingent of Indian Army and full support from radical organizations like RSS leave hardly any probability for across the border infiltration. As far as the nomenclature of terrorists used for innocent Freedom Fighters also seems to be ridiculous. During various U.N debates on terrorism, many have argued that methods of violence used by States can be morally reprehensible and a form of terrorism. Similarly, according to Maulaye-el-Hassan, UN Ambassador from Mauritania expressed his views by stating, “All liberation movements are described as terrorists by those who have reduced them to slavery. The term terrorist can hardly be held to persons who were denied the most elementary human rights, dignity, freedom and independence.” This definition on UN record ideally fits to IOK case. World community should understand that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and Indian government’s propaganda of describing mass Kashmiri resistance as terrorist activity is an attempt to nullify the indigenous nature of freedom struggle in Jammu and Kashmir. The World must acknowledge that now the Kashmiri youth want to end Indian subjugation and illegal occupation.
Today, people from all over the World are showing solidarity with innocent people of IOK. It was heartening to witness rallies and show of solidarity in various parts of Pakistan. Most spectacular scenes were witnessed all across Baluchistan, the same portion of Pakistan where India operates numerous proxies to destabilize Pakistan. It is the same place from where RAW terrorist Kulbashan Yadave, a serving senior Indian Navy officer was caught organizing terrorist activities. Today seeing the anger of people of Baluchistan over current wave of Indian atrocities in IOK, it has become clear to the World that no Indian design of harming Pakistan will be successful from this land of valiant and patriot Pakistanis. Their message is clear, “Shame to India and her tyranny in IOK”. Elie Wiesel rightly said, “We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentors, not the tormented. Wherever anyone is persecuted for their race or political views, that place must become the center of the universe”. Realizing this global obligation, the Government and people of Pakistan are totally committed to the liberation of their Kashmiri brethren. They will not tire; neither will they falter in the long and bitter struggle until the right of self determination, as pledged to them in the resolutions of the Security Council and the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan. It is our firm belief that in providing moral support to people of IOK in their peaceful struggle, we are striving to uphold the high purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations – to avert the danger to international peace in Asia and the World and to promote respect for human rights. At this moment, both stand in peril. Freedom can be delayed by oppression, but it cannot ultimately be denied. The course of history is relentlessly so set. The people of Kashmir will one day be free.
In today’s global village, no human cry can go unnoticed. In case of IOK genocide, It is not merely a feeble cry. Some times I wonder that how can the heinous crimes committed by Indian Army under the cover of AFSPA go unnoticed? How “Mass graves” in Srinagar Budgam, Bandipura, Baramulla and Kupwara districts can remain invisible to the World? How repeated Amnesty International reports highlighting grave human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir can be ignored by international community? The international community must realize that for over six decades, innocent people of IOK have been the victim of quagmire of hypocrisy and oppression. Perhaps such dismal phases are bound to occur in the long history of nations everywhere. But an end to them is also bound to come. For countless years, India has stalled and evaded; for decades, IOK has been denied its inherent right to share in the freedom that came to India and Pakistan. To let this state of affairs continue is unjust on the part of the World. The international community must realize their global, moral and social responsibility to feel the agony and sufferings of people of IOK. Their voices together can awake UN, the highest body for restoration of peace from deep slumber of indolence and urge it to implement their own resolutions indiscriminately. The super powers must abandon policies of hypocrisy and appeasement and while staying above their myopic vested interests should stand united with innocent people of IOK in their legitimate struggle for freedom.
