DADYAL, July 19: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan addressed a public gathering here on Tuesday and said that Pakistan army is more protective of democracy than Turkish army. We could bring about our own destruction if we do not stand for justice and law.
The people of Azad Kashmir have an opportunity to reform the political system. It is essential for the success of Tehreek Azadi e-Kashmir to vote for the right candidate in the upcoming general elections, he said.
It is the only way to eliminate the atrocities of Indian armed forces in held Kashmir, he added.
When former army general Pervez Musharraf overthrew the government of Nawaz Sharif sweets were distributed in Lahore, the strong foothold of PML-N and there was a shortage of sweets on the shops, he added.
However the Pakistan army supports democracy as compared to the Turkish army, he said.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan served the Turkish people and brought happiness to his country. He funded the schooling system, established numerous universities. When the military coup was attempted to remove Tayyip Erdogan from power the Turkish people stood by their president and protected democracy.
Chairman PTI Imran Khan also said that Pakistan was the name of a splendid dream which had to become an exemplary state of justice and law but I am disappointed in saying that dream is beyond our reach. He highlighted the issues surfacing in Pakistan and said that inflation is elevating in the country day by day. The expenses of farmers are not fulfilled. The maternal mortality rate in Pakistan is the highest. The foreign investors hesitate to invest in Pakistan due to rapid corruption. Low investment has resulted in unemployment.
Those who vowed to free Pakistan from the menace of debts have heavily indebted the country and turned the people into beggars, he said. The wealth of the people is bound to be invested in off-shore companies when the leader is corrupt, he added.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was the core of his speech. He imposed blame by stating that PML-N will never be able to win the upcoming general elections in AJK without corruption.
He also said that clean elections and unbiased election commission is need of the hour. President PTI AJK chapter Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said that arrangements have been made to practice clean elections in Kashmir. – NNI
