ISLAMABAD, August 29: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) offices were being demolished upon his directives.
Murad Ali Shah said that MQM leader Farooq Sattar took a commendable step abrogating the authority of party founder Altaf Hussain. Speaking at a private TC channel, the chief minister lamented that Sindh is being neglected in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) plan.
The city administration continued its crackdown against the MQM over the August 22 speech by Altaf Hussain having anti-Pakistan remarks. It has demolished various sector offices of the party and removed pictures of the party chief.
So far, more than 18 MQM offices have been demolished with above 218 sealed in Karachi. Officials had said that 178 of party unit offices and 22 sector offices were situated on encroached lands.
They had said that a decision was made to immediately demolish 32 of these offices, while others would be razed gradually. -DNA
