
RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD, August 29: Saudi Defence Minister and Deputy Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud called on General Raheel Sharif, COAS in Rawalpindi.
During the meeting regional security with particular focus on Middle East, issues of bilateral relations including defence cooperation and collaboration came under discussion.
Earlier Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud pledged to further enhance bilateral ties between the two brotherly countries and strengthen their cooperation in diverse fields.
These views were expressed by both the leaders at a meeting in Islamabad on Sunday night.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest at the regional and international levels.
Federal ministers, parliamentarians and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, when Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister arrived in Islamabad, he was received by his Pakistani counterpart Khawaja Muhammad Asif at the airport.
Meanwhile Saudi Defence Minister and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz returned home on early Monday morning after a brief visit to Islamabad. Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and COAS General Raheel Sharif were present at the airports to see off the distinguish guest.-Sabah
