SRINAGAR, September 18: In occupied Kashmir, normal life remained crippled for the 72nd straight day, Sunday, as the Indian authorities continued to enforce curfew and other restrictions to curb anti-India and pro-freedom rallies and marches in the territory. People defied curfew and restrictions in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Islamabad and Kulgam areas, came out of their houses and staged anti-India rallies and conducted marches. Many people were injured when forces used brute force on protesters. Dozens of people were injured in Kulgam alone when armed forces attacked a pro-freedom rally in Manzgam area of the district. The joint Hurriyet leadership had called for marches in Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian districts, Sunday. Mobile telephone and internet services continued to remain snapped across the Valley.
APHC leader Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi while defying restrictions led Zuhr prayers on road in Badgam, today. He was later put under house arrest when tried to lead a march in the town. Indian forces targeted a mentally challenged man, Showkat Ahmed Misger, with pellets resulting in brain injuries and damage to his both eyes in Safa Kadal area of Srinagar.
The High Court Bar Association in a statement vehemently condemned the forces’ action.-KMS
