ISLAMABAD, January 31: In order to encourage and motivate youth of Pakistan to acquire skills and training in Technical & Vocational streams, National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) organized a “National Skills Competition” at National Training Bureau in which around 141 trainees from different TVET Institutes (Private & Public sector) participated with enthusiasm and exhibited their Skills in 10 diversified trades including plumbing, refrigeration (air conditioner), welding, beautician, dress making, hospitality, general electrician, web development, auto-cad and graphic designing. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, Executive Director NAVTTC was the chief guest of the ceremony.
On this occasion, Zulfiqar Cheema said that Pakistan’s human capital particularly our youth contains the greatest potential yet to be tapped. Skill development is the only path to overcome unemployment and poverty alleviation and by prioritizing technical and vocational skills we can make our youth useful and productive citizen of the country. He further added that we are committed towards positive development of the youth and enabling them to become technology producers.He said that NAVTTC has shifted towards demand driven training and is imparting training in marketable skills. He said that effectiveness of monitoring has been enhanced to ensure quality training.-PR
