- Says 27th December given by Bilawal Bhutto is based on give and take

ISLAMABAD, October 27: Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has announced to shut down Islamabad from 2:00 PM on 2nd November. Imran said PTI protest will be peaceful. He said PM Nawaz Sharif should present himself for accountability or should resign from PM post. He said the date of 27th December given by Bilawal Bhutto is based on give and take. Imran said PTI will not allow functioning government. He said PML-N leaders should stop threatening because if anything wrong would happen then the government will face loss.
Senior leaders of PTI met in the capital on Monday to decide a new date for the party’s planned siege of Islamabad, which was earlier scheduled for October 30.
Speaking to reporters along with Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jehangir Khan Tareen, Asad Umar, Abdul Aleem Khan and others PTI Chairman said if government will try to do anything wrong then government could not remain intact. He said the leadership of other political parties has no interest in protest. Imran said PTI will go at last extent this time and will not hold any other sit-in against the government.
Imran Khan said, “Why are we holding this protest? Because a prime minister has been caught doing corruption. What do we want? A resignation or an investigation… Nawaz Sharif should be held accountable like the prime minister of Iceland who was also named in the Panama Papers.”
In reply to a question about the new date, he said: “I think it will be after the SCBA elections.” He said that since there had been a widespread criticism of the PTI’s decision to shut down Islamabad during the weekend, “there is a big chance that our new date will fall on a working day”.
Imran Khan said that the lawyers through Hamid Khan had requested PTI for changing the date for Islamabad lockdown due to bar elections. He said that as the lawyers were also struggling for democracy and the PTI decided to lockdown Islamabad on November 2.
The PTI chief warned the government against expected crackdown on the PTI leaders and workers, saying that the PTI was no asking only for PM Nawaz resignation and the government’s crackdown could cause collapse of the whole government.
He said that peaceful protest was their democratic right as for the last six months, the justice institutions have been failed to take action against the prime minister. He said that Islamabad lockdown was the last phase of the movement and there would not rallies after Islamabad lockdown. He also criticised the opposition parties for not supporting his Islamabad lockdown plan. Imran said he is seeing Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari on the same platform. He said the country is moving towards corruption due to the corruption.-Sabah
