UNITED KINGDOM, October 19: Narendra Modi’s efforts to isolate Pakistan globally were dealt yet another blow when the UK hailed Pakistan’s “significant sacrifices” in combating terror.
The UK, in response to a petition calling on the British government to “strongly condemn” Pakistan for harbouring terrorists, lauded Pakistan’s role in the war on terror and said the country has made significant sacrifices in countering terror.
The petition on the official government website had crossed 10,000 signatures, making it obligatory for the UK government to respond.

in opposing terrorism. The UK has regularly raised with Pakistan the need to take consistent action against all terrorist groups operating within its borders,” the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) stated in its response. “We recognise the significant sacrifices that Pakistan and its people have made in combating terrorism. We are helping Pakistan develop its capacity to protect itself and prosecute those who plan and commit terrorist attacks,” the response read. The response comes just days ahead of Prime Minister Theresa May’s scheduled visit to India.
