SRINAGAR, February 2: In occupied Kashmir, speakers at a conference in Rajori have said that Indian agencies are fomenting sectarian discard in Jammu and Kashmir.
An event on ‘Unity of Muslim Ummah’ was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement and was addressed by religious scholars of almost all schools of thought. The speakers said that one Prophet (PBUH), one Quran and one Ka’ba were sufficient for the unity of Muslim Ummah.
They called upon khateebs and religious scholars to promote unity from pulpit.
Hurriyet leader and JKPM Working Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem, on the occasion said that his party would continue to work for unity among the Muslims of the territory. He maintained that the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who were struggling for securing their right to self-determination for the past seven decades, could not afford disunity.
Others who addressed the conference included Maulana Amir Muhammad Shamsi, Dr Muhammad Afzal Reena, Hafiz Abdul Majeed, Abdur Rasheed Fida, Dr Ghafoor Dar, Bashir Ahmed Mir, Muhammad Shafi Naik, Abdur Rasheed Thakkar, Muhammad Nazir Mir, Hafiz Maqsood Dar, Tariq Ahmad Shawl, Maulana Sabir Hussain and Muhammad Rafiq Khan.-Online
