I can’t believe a sensible person like Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan can talk things that can’t stand the test of even minimum common sense. I just listened to him in one of his less sensible moods. He was hurling insults at the KPK Chief Minister Pervez Khattak for the latter’s speech in the last night’s public meeting, in which the Punjab and the Federal forces’ assault on the convoy coming from the KPK had been criticized.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was stating that he had very graciously allowed the KPK citizens to enter Islamabad to attend the public meeting.
Chaudhry Sahib, Pakistan is one country. The people of KPK need neither ‘visas’ nor your gracious magnanimity to enter Punjab or Islamabad. The bitter fact is that on the night of the 31st October 2016 Pervez Khattak and those accompanying him were subjected to such heavy shelling that two persons breathed their last. It seemed as though a war had started between two countries. Of course the KPK Chief Minister is a PTI leader too. And he was leading protesters who were to join their Punjabi brothers in Islamabad.
While unleashing the full might and wrath of the Nawaz government on those protesting against Prime Minister’s alleged corruption, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan should have remembered his own violent protest against President Asif Ali Zardari. He should also have remembered the PML (N)’s attack on the Supreme Court.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on the strength of his better reputation is expected to behave more responsibly. Many of his well-wishers want him not to play Devil’s Advocate….
