ISLAMABAD, November 4: District and Session judge Islamabad Kamaran Basharat Mufti has issued a notice to Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif over Rs. 30 billion defamation case filed against him by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Jahangir Khan Tareen. In the suit filed on Thursday, Jahangir Tareen accused Shahbaz Sharif of making “false allegations” over the plaintiff’s loans. The PTI leader rejected Shahbaz’s claim that he had loans written off from banks. According to Tareen, the chief minister made these allegations at a public gathering on April 25. Tareen stated in the suit that the chief minister had repeated the allegations at a press conference on October 26. After hearing his arguments, the judge issued notice to the PML-N senior leader to file his reply by Nov 12.-Sabah
