PESHAWAR, November 25: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that honourable return of the Afghan Refugees to their homeland is in the interest of both the countries and increase in refugees returns is due to better refugees package and border management. Refugees can play effective role in the progress, prosperity and development of War Ravaged brotherly country Afghanistan. Federal government has set the strategy for complete repatriation of refugees. This he said while talking to a representative delegation of European Union led by Managing Director Asia Pacific Mr Gunnar Wiegand at Chief Minister House Peshawar today. Ambassador to European Union Jean-Farancois Cautain also accompanied the delegation.
Chief Minister said that in view of the law & order situation registration of refugees was must and could not be overlooked as non registration was creating law & order issues. “We welcomed those refugees to our homeland who fulfill legal formalities”, he added. Pakistan and Afghanistan particularly KP province deeply inter-dependent and tension and lawlessness in Afghanistan was directly affecting us, therefore peace in Afghanistan was in the interest of the whole region. Chief Minister informed the delegation that due to our pro industrial policies, Investors were taking keen interest to invest in KP province as confidence of the foreign investors had been restored adding that CPEC would bring socio-economic revolution in the region. The Chief Minister hoped that Prime Minister will call all parties conference on CPEC to take political leaders in confidence regarding decisions taken in All Party Conference about the project to ensure its smooth implementation. He said that CPEC was futuristic project and that is why federal government should make its policy clear to avoid doubts and misconception in the mind of the people about the project. -PR
