  • Yasin Malik re-arrested; normal life remained crippled in Kashmir Valley due to complete shutdown

Image result for People hold anti-India demos, wave Pakistani flags in IOKSRINAGAR, December 2: In occupied Kashmir, anti-India demonstrations, Friday, were marked with pro-Pakistan and pro-freedom slogans, waving of Pakistani flags and clashes between protesters and Indian forces’ personnel.
Call for the demonstrations was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik against the revengeful behaviour of the authorities towards the illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails. People took to the streets in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Sopore, Baramulla, Bandipore, Kupwara, Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and other areas and staged forceful protests. Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi led the demonstrations in Srinagar and Badgam. Indian forces’ personnel subjected the demonstrators to heavy teargas shelling and lathi-charge at various places injuring many of them.
Indian police arrested Muhammad Yasin Malik after he tried to lead a pro-freedom demonstration in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar and lodged him at Kothibagh police station. The occupation authorities continued to keep Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Geelani and Shabbir Ahmed Shah under house arrest or in custody to prevent them from leading the demonstrations. They were not even allowed to offer Juma prayers.
Meanwhile, normal life remained crippled in the Kashmir Valley due to the complete shutdown against the Indian illegal occupation, civilian killings and other brutalities of Indian police and troops in the territory.-KMS
