- Pledges to work for the people of AJK without any political consideration
ISLAMABAD, December 13: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has assured to support AJK government in its demand for increasing the share of Azad Jammu & Kashmir in NFC award. AJK is not a formal member of the NFC but it is receiving 2.27 per cent in the NFC award.
He assured this while talking to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider who called on the Chief Minister at Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.
Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest during the meeting. Chief Minister assured of supporting AJK at proper forum and assured to work for the people of AKJ without any political consideration.
AJK Premier said that all political parties of Pakistan always supported Kashmiris right to self determination in accordance with the United Nations resolutions. All the governments and people of Pakistan stood united for political, moral and diplomatic support of Kashmir cause.
On the merger of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Chief Minister said “we welcome the merger of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The existing system should be extended to FATA”. Any new experiment was not required and may not succeed because the people of FATA were accustomed to the existing Pakistani laws. Even the local government system of the province could also be extended there, he added.
Referring to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of infrastructure devastated by the earthquake, the Chief Minister said that the federal government did not pay for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of schools and other infrastructure of social services devastated by the earthquake in Hazara division. The province with its own resources constructed 600 schools out of 2500 schools.-Online
