ISLAMABAD, January 23: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said Monday Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should sue British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) if its leadership is not guilty.
PTI chairman was talking to media outside Supreme Court (SC) after attending the panama leaks case hearing.
Imran said that instead of providing proofs Nawaz Shairf’s counsel has presented arguments about technicalities in Supreme Court. He said the proofs so far should have been presented but there is observation of the bench that the proofs have not been presented.
Imran said just one money trail has been presented so far, adding that Nawaz Sharif in his speech in parliament had said he has all the proofs of money trail. He said one proof was of Qatari letter, adding that Fredric Obermire who was journalist and who had provided information to ICIJ today has confirmed that Mrayam Nawaz is the beneficial owner of the two offshore companies which owns Mayfair flats. He said real owner of the Mayfair flats is Maryam Nawaz. He said Sutshe Realburg the German Newspaper has published this story.
He said the Qatari letter is fraud, adding that Hussain Nawaz is not the owner of these flats. He said that the trust deed presented in court is also fraud, adding that the trust deed says Hussain Nawaz is the owner and Maryam is trustee of these flats. He said the deed has also proved fraud, adding that the whole case of PML-N is going towards destruction, adding that if they are right then they should take the ICIJ and BBC to court. He said BBC had confirmed in 1998 that Sharif family was the owner of Mayfair flats from 1993.
He said the government should speak truth instead of leveling allegations against him. He said if the news stories are false then government should sue BBC and ICIJ. He said four ministers accepted that the four flats were purchased in 1990s. Imran said PML-N leaders instead of attacking him should serve notice to ICIJ and BBC.
Imran said Almighty Allah has caught Sharif family. He said the nation wants answers of the questions, adding that they are not responding the questions from the last nine months. He said the lawyers have separated Nawaz Sharif from family business. He said the joint family purchased the Mayfair flats. Imran said if without party structure PTI is holding big gatherings in Punjab then PTI will win the next elections too without party organization.-Sabah
