MANSAR, March 29: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday acknowledged and hailed contributions of Azad Kashmir (AK) Regiment towards defence of the motherland which includes 3,842 martyrs.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief was addressing the installation ceremony of Colonel Commandant of AK Regiment held at AK Center Mansar Camp.
The COAS was the chief guest. General Qamar Javed Bajwa and outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Lieutenant General Ashfaq Nadeem Ahmad (R) pinned the badges of rank on Lieutenant General Hidayat-ur-Rehman to install him as Colonel Commandant of the AK Regiment.
The COAS also thanked the out going Colonel Commandant of the AK Regiment for his meritorious services as Colonel of the Regiment.
Senior serving and retired officers and troops of AK Regiment were present on the occasion. -DNA
