DUBAI, April 23: Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf has on Sunday said that Panama Leaks is damaging Pakistan’s image on diplomatic level.
In an exclusive interview with an Indian TV channel, he said that he is weighing and examining options to make a comeback in Pakistan politics as the country needs third political force. “I don’t want to be PM of Pakistan,” Musharraf said, adding that he stressed on the need to “create a third political force” to “introduce better practical democracy”. “There are many good people who can run Pakistan,” the former president said. “I would like to contribute by using all my experience to guide someone who is good.” The former COAS also downplayed criticism of his plan to ally with either Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) or cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He said his earlier decision to join them was the need of the hour to ensure the country rid itself of corruption and nepotism. The former president said that the due to internal mandate, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in best position to resolve Kashmir dispute. Musharraf went on to say that America should link terrorism with Islam, terror has no religion. – Agencies
