PESHAWAR, February 14: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has underlined the planned and coordination efforts for exploration of avenues to enhance trade activities and boost socio economic ties between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tajikistan government.
This he said while talking to a delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, headed by Ambassador of the country, Sher Ali Janov at Chief Minister Secretariat. Engineer Said Mehmood, Trade Attache, Consul General to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Syed Arif Shah First Secretary of Tajikstan to Pakistan accompanied the Ambassador. Parliamentary Secretary for P&D Mian Khaleequr Rehman was also present on the occasion.
The delegation discussed matters of bilateral interest with Chief Minister on the occasion. The delegates showed interest in increase of trade relations between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tajakistan. The delegates underlined the need of enhancing mutual cooperation between the provincial government and Tajikistan in energy, education and culture sectors. They stressed the need for exchange of trade delegation for efficient utilization of trade potentials between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tajikistan government.
The delegation also pinpointed the need of development of communication network to boost economic, cultural and academic possibilities between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tajikistan.
Talking to the delegation Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said that the process of reform had been initiated in all sectors including, education, energy, industry and power. He informed the delegation that new industrial policy had been formed to provide one window operation for acceleration of industrialization in the province. He said that power policy adopted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was providing opportunities for public-private partnership and government to government cooperation in power generation in the province. The Chief Minister asked the delegates for utilization of KP’s experiences in development of hydel potential of the province for power generation.
The Chief Minister linked peace and stability in Afghanistan to the peace and development of the entire region. He said that CEPEC would also benefit Afghanistan and Tajakistan.-PR
