KARACHI, May 7: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Karachi Corps Headquarters (HQ) where he was briefed on security situation in the metropolis,
progress of operation Raddul Fasad and support to census in Sindh province, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Sunday.
During his visit, the Army Chief appreciated the efforts of Pak Army and Sindh Rangers for their contributions towards successful execution of these assignments. He said that peace in Karachi is vital for stability in Pakistan.
He also appreciated efforts of intelligence agencies and security forces in winning back dissident / sub nationalist elements in to national mainstream through positive engagement.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa reiterated that efforts will continue till restoration of complete normalcy in Karachi and the province.
Earlier, he was received by Commander Karachi Corps Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza. DG Rangers Sindh was also present.-DNA
