ISLAMABAD, June 18: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf main spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry has said on Sunday that elections or a movement could be announced anytime in the country.
During a press conference, Fawad pointed towards an emergency situation in the country and directed PTI workers to be prepared for every sort of circumstances. Keeping in view a possible emergency situation ahead of the final verdict on Panama Leaks probe, the PTI spokesperson alerted the party workers for all possible contingencies. He urged the party workers to be prepared for any sort of emergency situation ” either announcement of General Elections or another movement — in wake of the Supreme Court’s final verdict on Panamagate scandal.
He said that the Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is going to submit its last 15-day report to the apex court before the Eid and it seemed that the verdict would be announced soon. “Considering the pace of the probe, it looks that the top court will announce its final verdict soon, Chaudhry added.
He said that former officer of FIA Inam-ur-Rehman can provide details to JIT regarding how Sharif family transferred money abroad. Fawad asserted that Rs8 billion commission was received in motorway project by PML-N and was later used in Hudaibya Paper Mills.
He opined that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders had failed to submit a convincing reply to the apex court pertaining to offshore properties. They have continuously hided the testimonies, he added.
They are getting trapped despite striving hard to escape the probe, he remarked while alleging that the money for Hudaibiya Papers Mills came from motorway commission.
He said if the records of development projects were made public, people would find out about massive money plundering while implying that money laundering is bigger crime than corruption. He further said that the PTI chief Imran Khan has advised the workers to be prepared for all sort of possible outcomes. He accused Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif of being the protagonist of Hudaibya Paper case and said that he spent Rs80 crore during his government whose audit is still pending. The spokesperson told that JIT will present its third report before Eid which will likely be the last one. -NNI
