ISLAMABAD, March 16: Interior ministry has finalised on Friday fresh procedure for addition of names in Exit Control List (ECL).
Reportedly, the ministry prepared a summary that is to be forwarded to the federal cabinet for approval before the new procedure is enacted.
Sources privy to the ministry have reported that the summary cites easy window in the procedure for an alleged criminal to flee Pakistan by the time the cabinet approves addition in ECL.

the federal cabinet however, according to the summary, this provides an alleged criminal time to flee.
The ministry has recommended the cabinet to transfer the power to the minister as well as the secretary for timely action. They could be allowed to introduce changes to the list before getting those approved by the federal cabinet.
The summary prepared by interior ministry also has sought permission of the cabinet for addition to as many as 13 names to the list and approval for at least 739 decisions taken earlier. -DNA
