ISLAMABAD, September 3: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at PM secretariat on Monday.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, matters related to national, regional security, Defence Day, US-Pakistan relations, and internal and external security situation were discussed in details.
As per sources, they also discussed the upcoming visit of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Pakistan and Afghanistan. COAS Gen Bajwa also invited the prime minister to attend an event on Defence Day at GHQ to honour the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation.
After taking oath as the prime minister, Imran Khan met with the army chief on third times.
Earlier on Thursday, PM Imran along with several cabinet members visited the general headquarters (GHQ) to get briefing on security matters. The premier and his ministers were given detailed briefings on security environment, threat spectrum and response. – Agencies
