ISLAMABAD, February 26: Supreme Court Friday accepted appeal filed by its former chief justice Abdul Hameed Dogar against implicating him in treason trial of former President Pervez Musharraf.
A three-member bench overruled Nov. 21. 2014 order of special trial court about the nomination of Dogar as co-accused in the case.
The special trial had ordered authorities to include Dogar, former law minister Zahid Hamid and former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz as co-accused in the case.
The bench noted the high court or the special court does not have the prerogative to order the nomination of co-accused in the treason case. Discretion in this regard rests with the federation, it said.
