If Washington had had its way it would like to dismember China the way it had split up Soviet Union. Pakistan has always been a friend of China but recently this friendship has further cemented itself by the CPEC, much to the chagrin of the Americans. Washington knows that, on fruition, the CPEC would make China’s economy stronger , many times over its present strength. It doesn’t feel happy over Pakistan’s decision to give a leeway to China for reaching the warm waters of Balochistan.
The Americans have , more than once, let it be known that deep down they are not happy over the close coordination on the CPEC between China and Pakistan. China’s meat is their poison.
Small wonder the American CIA has been masterminding trouble and unrest in Balochistan and also bankrolling its agents inside Pakistan to destabilise Pakistan. There has never been a dearth of persons like Dr Shakil Afridi in this country who are always ready to sell their conscience and soul down the river to the Americans in lieu of the American green card. Our history, unfortunately , is replete with instances of Mir Jaffers and Mir Qasims galore. But for them the British colonialists would never have succeeded in gaining a foothold in this soil.
The prime minister needs extremely fool proof personal security as the Americans are highly untrustworthy people. By paying Trump in the same coin in his speech giving the lie to the allegations against Pakistan made by Trump he has evoked the ire of the American president. General Zia was once their right hand man. The Americans fell out with him when they came to know he has started harping on the tune of Pan Islamism and was thinking in terms of bringing Muslims together from Kasghar to Nile under a single banner. Some people say there was hidden American hand behind his killing. Some people also accused the Americans of the judicial murder of ZA Bhutto as he had entered into a verbal duel with Dr Kissinger who had threatened to make an example of him.
