It is being said that the new CJP speaks only through his written verdicts. That is fair enough. He has let it be known that he would resort to suo moto action once in a blue moon and that too in those cases only where no other option would be forthcoming. He is reputed to be a good listener and avoids entering into unnecessary arguments with the lawyers in the court room during the proceedings of the criminal, political or civil nature cases. It is hoped that the bar for selecting judges for the Higher courts from amongst the lawyers’community would be further raised so that only those of them could make it to the Apex courts as a judge who are best of the best.

Why the heck were they placed on the ECL in the first place is not understandable?
