Pakistan women team conceded another thumping defeat as Windies won the first ODI of the series by a margin of 146 runs at Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.
Women in green were asked to bowl first to a strong-looking batting line of the West Indies. The hosts had a decent start by removing Kycia Knight (0) on a total of 12 runs, However, a solid partnership of 143 runs between Deandra Dottin and skipper Stefanie Taylor left green shirts drowning.
Bowlers were under immense pressure and were unable to tackle Dottin who was also named as the woman of the three-match T20I series last week in Karachi. She hammered 94 runs off 136 deliveries with help of eight boundaries and two maximums which showed his courage and commitment with her team.
Stefanie, who was reluctant to visit Karachi with her team to play T20I matches, when joined the team made an exceptional contribution for her side with 58 precious runs which included four boundaries.
Other than the duo, none of Windies batter could contribute significantly with the bat, which restricted them to 216/5.
Kainat Imtiaz shined with the ball with three wickets to her name, while Sana Mir and Aliya Riaz took one wicket.
However, it proved to be too much for the hosts. Only two batswomen from Pakistan, Nahida Khan and Javeria Khan could enter the double figures with 23 and 21 runs respectively.
Eight of their batswomen were unable to enter even double figures. Moreover, Aiman Anwer also did not come out to bat due to a hamstring injury which created more pressure on Pakistan.
