It is in the nature of the opposition’s role to jump at any opening that a government provides. And if the opposition is as dark-stained, immoral and vindictive as we have today, the government simply can’t afford to provide openings so frequently, so generously and so inexplicably. The sacking of the top officials in the area of money-management right in the middle of a dialogue with the IMF officials is the latest classical case in this respect.
I have previously stated that some pieces of information are regularly forwarded to me that contain highly controversial — yet worth-pondering-upon material. You have read about Bilwal and Sharifs already (in this context). Today the piece is virtually an indictment against IK’s government. Even though I hate to agree with the underlying message, I think, the readers are entitled to knowing about all shades of public opinion.
The piece underneath is a long one and was received by me two days back before the announcement of Shabar Zaidi’s appointment as the FBR Chairman.
