What is the need of a parliament if legislation is to be done through Presidential ordinances? The passage of tax amnesty scheme through a presidential ordinance recently didn’t go well with the common man. How can he forget so quickly that till yesterday the present rulers had been lambasting their predecessors for introducing tax amnesty schemes in order to benefit the elite and their blue-eyed boys?Wouldn’t it be difficult for them now to defend this action of theirs when they too have done the same thing for which they used to censure their detractors ?
The number of federal ministers, ministers for state, advisors to the prime minister etc etc , taken together has risen to 48 with the induction of Sania Nisthar in the federal cabinet and this figure might cross half a century before long. This is another step which has not gone well with the common man of this country.
Bara Kahu and Turnol are located at the two corners of the federal capital. Both are vastly populated areas now. They share one thing in common and that is the presence of weaponry galore in them. Most of the weapons available with the inhabitants of these areas are of prohibited bore. It is a pity that heavy weapons in abundance should be present near the federal capital right under the nose of interior ministry and the police should be looking the other way!
An old age adage says that if an evil is not nipped in the bud or if proper treatment of a disease was not made it is likely to become incurable one day. When will the local police carry out an operation clean-up to cleanse these areas of prohibited bore weaponry?
